10k & 1/2 Marathon Training Plans Posted on 20 June 2017 By Erica Wendt-richardson 0 Running a ½ marathon may sound awesome but how do you make the jump from beginner runner to ½ marathon conqueror? Here's the training programs you need to put some distance behind you and great races in front of you. For those who are interested in delving a little deeper into running than just a 5k, here are training plans for a 10k and ½ Marathon. Please note, these training plans are for intermediate to advanced runners. If you are a beginning runner, it is recommended that you start with the 5k training plan (which you can find in last week's blog entry). Before beginning each workout, you should warm up 1-2 miles, followed by running drills. Doing this will help you prepare for your workout and will decrease the possibility of injury. Once finished, you should also cool down 1-2 miles, followed by stretching.
