300 Hotdogs, Acrobats, and a Hardcore Fail at Directions || A Week in Review Posted on 27 June 2017 1 This last week was a busy one for us at Bill’s. We are actively involved in community events and sponsor tons of local events and races! I hit up all the major events we were at this week and here’s my review. At the start of the week we had some of our guys at Kelly Canyon for the Wolverine Creek Super D bike race. The event went great and they apparently had a great race. I was also supposed to be in attendance, however, I entered the information into my GPS and ended up in Island Park. Hardcore fail! On the bright side, it turned into a fun family day at Mesa Falls. Leave it to me to go the absolute wrong direction on my way to a race. Mid-week we had our customer appreciation night. That was a blast! We had folks running (and walking) as far as they could doing our treadmill challenge in 4 minutes. 2 minutes of that run were at a 20% incline, totally nuts! The biggest part of the festivities was the barbeque where we had way underestimated how many people would show up. We started with 100 hotdogs and ended up going through around 300! We had to go to the store to get more stuff twice! Kids had a blast painting rocks. Families took pictures in front of the shop for a chance to win a free bike. Lots of prizes were given out and the food was good! Overall, it was a great time and we at Bill’s were so thankful for the community support. This event was in honor of being voted #1 bike shop, running shop, and sporting goods store in Idaho falls. We are honored to be recognized as such and thought this party was a great way to celebrate. On Saturday, we were busy at the Bike for Kids event. The morning bike race was awesome and the kids all seemed to have a total blast! This event was part of the EIRMC family fun day which was held across the street from our shop (practically in our front yard). There was a ton to do; you could jump in bouncy houses, make a teddy bear, take pictures with storm troopers, see inside a helicopter, and much more. Well by “you” I mean “your kids” but I’m sure they would have let me sit in the helicopter if I waited in line :) My wife loved the acrobat show that they had where student acrobats (kids and teenagers) performed some really crazy balancing feats! I’m impressed with anyone who can do a squat while balancing two people on top of them. While this week was busy it’s only the beginning of a summer of fun for us at Bill’s. Keep up to date on all the local races by following our calendar, our Facebook page, Instagram and our website. Were you at any of these events? Comment below with your thoughts, we love getting feedback and interacting with our community!
