Technical apparel can make all the difference in your performance to stay comfortable. Specifically, running apparel is built with fabrics to help pull moisture away from your body and evaporate quickly. It will keep you cool in hot weather and dry in cold weather.
We tell our runners to stay away from cotton. Cotton shirts, cotton shorts, cotton socks. Cotton collects moisture and sweat resulting in a heavy/wet material. Worse of all, when combined may lead to chaffing and even blisters.
Technical clothing is designed to dry quickly, no matter the temperature. The clothing is comfortable due to it’s lightweight, stretchy fabrics, making it easy to wear. Another advantage of wearing technical clothing is that you don’t have wear lot’s and lot’s of layers. Also, it’s designed for athletes.
Socks play an important role in your running comfort and to stay blister-free. There are many cuts and styles of running socks out there. Socks are all about preference and what you like, but a good pair can make all the difference. Again, just like your running apparel, you want to stay away from cotton. You can choose a sock that is light weight, breathable, soft. A sock that is tighter fitting that gives more support in the ankle, a sock that has padding strips that protect the top of the foot and the joint at the base of the big toe. Or do you want added cushioning in the heel and toe. There is women and men specific socks as well. Another sock that runners are using more is compression socks. Compression socks help stimulate blood flow, helping legs recover faster from a hard run. They are snug fitting and knee-high which help increase circulation and reduce lactic-acid build up. Either way if you go with a compression sock or not, remember you want to have comfort on your run.
We carry a wide variety of apparel to meet your needs.
