Bill’s Bike Shop was founded by Bill Murdock in 1947 and it has been an iconic part of the Idaho Falls recreational community ever since, helping people of all ages discover and experience the beauty of the off-road trail, the freedom of the open road, and the serenity of the Greenbelt – a local treasure. Since its beginning, Bill’s has introduced biking to thousands of biking enthusiasts opening their eyes to unlimited possibilities for healthy adventure, spirited competition, and opportunities to give back to the community.
Gary Wight bought the business from Bill's son Stan in 2011 and he continued the legacy of multi-generational service with the popular “Trade-as-You-Grow” program. Gary realized that many people coming to Bill’s Bike & Run are multi-sport enthusiasts. Bill’s has since become a recognized expert in providing walking and running solutions for casual and serious enthusiasts alike. Under Gary’s leadership, Bill’s Bike & Run harnessed the commitment and the passion of its employees to organize and participate in numerous local and regional events benefiting charities, schools, and other philanthropic causes. Annual events like Bike to School Challenge, Run for the Cure, Great Snake Triathlon, and Race to Feed the Hungry attract hundreds and sometimes thousands of people from the community and the region, raising awareness and money for those in need.
We are guided by a mission statement that reflects our commitment to the health of individuals and our community and the world we live in.
