Practice that victory salute because Specialized's Tarmac SL3 Expert Mid-Compact wins a lot of races! Its FACT-carbon frame and fork dance up the climbs, rail descents and power across the flats with ease thanks to their fantastically low weight and road-scorching stiffness. What's more, the Expert comes with smooth Fulcrum Racing wheels propelled by a precision-shifting Shimano Ultegra 20-speed drivetrain with the ideal blend of reliability and lightness. Plus, a whole host of Specialized's carbon and aluminum components that beg to be ridden hard are ready to roll.

This frame utilizes Specialized’s advanced FACT IS (Integrated Structure) construction method. By separating the frame into four main parts — the front triangle, seat tube/bottom bracket, chainstays and seatstays — Specialized is able to optimize each carbon piece for its specific purpose and create a structure that’s incredibly light, impeccably stiff and impressively strong.
This frame’s head tube is 1 1/2 inches in diameter at the bottom and 1 1/8 inches at the top. This maximizes front-end stiffness for awesome steering precision and control, while allowing the use of standard 1 1/8-inch stems and not adding much weight.
